At SAVE one of our primary purposes is to engage survivors in become safeguarding trainers. We can provide level 1 and advanced level safeguarding, 'train the trainer', PTLLS/AEL qualification and a range of other extended curses or further learning. We offer these opportunities to survivors of any type of abuse and/or from any setting. All training is in house and delivered by our own lead safeguarding trainer.
Once trained, qualified and having gained the relevant experience in delivery, through our commercial opportunities and sporting settings we are able to offer career pathways of various sorts and in a variety of settings. It may be that you would like to deliver training to professionals or to volunteers. Maybe delivering to parents and children is where your passion lies? You may want to be involved in auditing sports clubs/organisations and settings to ensure the most robust practices are taking place right down to and including grass roots level.
There are many varied opportunities to add real value as a person with a lived experience and by delivering and imparting your expert knowledge clubs/organisations and setting can gain unique insights as to how their actions and behaviour can significantly influence the culture at any one given place.
We believe a survivor's voice is a powerful voice and as such we feel you are in a unique position to influence and inspire those who have the welfare of children and vulnerable adults at the heart of what they do.
We also appreciate that immediate family members may also have some unique insights as often the impact on them is significant too. As such we do consider applications from adult children, siblings, partners/spouse, parents etc. They also have a'lived experience'.
For those who wish to continue training and learning you might consider studying to become a lead investigating officer. As our organisation grows we envisage that so will the training opportunities.
Invitation/selection/application for all training would be undertaken via a safe recruitment policy.
