Responsibility for all
Within safeguarding the term 'responsibility for all' is widely used but what does it actually mean ? To all of us at 'SAVE' it means exactly what is it says. Adequate and robust safeguarding and protecion of children, young adults and vulnerable adults is not possible unless everybody plays their role fully.
Central Government and legislation
Local safeguarding children boards (LSCBs)
Teachers and education staff
Health service professionals
National Governing Bodies (NGB's)
Voluntary and community sector workers in contact with children and families
Management/directors' boards at all 'regulated activities' (this includes sports clubs etc)
Designated safeguarding leads at regulated activities
Staff/volunteers at any regulated activity
Referees and officials
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
Parents and carers!!
That means me, you and everybody else.
PARENTS & CARERS
CHILDREN, YOUNG ADULTS AND VULNERABLE ADULTS
The Government document 'Working together to safeguard children' is the document that underpins how the principal of 'responsibility for all' should underpin safeguarding.
